The Problem with
Prediction Markets
For decades, lawmakers have built a framework to ensure gambling is fair, transparent, and accountable. That framework protects consumers, upholds state and tribal sovereignty, and ensures that anyone offering gambling products plays by the same rules. Prediction markets want none of it.
This page collects the press coverage, letters, and primary documents that tell the story of how prediction markets are seeking to expand into sports betting and casino gambling, outside the legal framework that governs everyone else.
The argument is simple: a loophole is not a license. Congress must close it.
